Sometimes last year, I made a post on how one can turn five local chickens into at least five thousand chickens in one year. I started trying it out and it’s really working out.
One of the chicks (now the mother hen) hatched on 26/08/2018 laid seven eggs but only 4 eggs were hatched on 19/03/2019. The hen walked away with her four chicks leaving 3 unhatched eggs in the nest.
I improvised a local heating source to see if I could hatch the remaining 3 eggs. I watched these eggs keenly for about 12 hours period. From cracks to bigger cracks to the point where one of the eggs hatched. In fact, it was a big struggle, it is the chick that can hatch herself preferably without an external influence. It is the chick that hatches itself.
On 20/03/2019, the first of the three eggs hatched itself in complete pains and struggles and is still healthy and alive till date.
The second chick was finding it difficult to hatch herself, it was taking so much time and she was in serious pains; at some point, I had to assist her to get hatched. She came out successfully but didn’t live beyond 12 hours.
The last of the 3 eggs were rotten, perhaps it was infertile and I thrashed it.
Lessons from the story:
One major lesson I picked from this story and experience is that whatever struggle and pains you are passing through are to prepare you for a greater glory an better days ahead.
There is no short cut to success and fulfilled life. If you apply short cuts in life, you might be cutting your life short.
It was a big lesson!
